RESUMO

Vehicle-assisted ligature strangulation is an extremely rare suicide method. We report a case of a 43-year-old man who secured one end of a nylon rope to a tree and the other end around his neck, then got inside his vehicle and stepped on the gas, leading to an incomplete decapitation. A sharply demarcated encircling ligature mark was found upon external examination, along with a deep laceration in the anterior region of the neck. The severance plane passed between the third and fourth cervical vertebrae, with diffuse haemorrhagic infiltration of the cervical muscles, in accordance with autopsy findings reported in the literature. The lung histological examination described a large amount of red blood cells and pulmonary oedema. A review of the literature concerning suicidal vehicle-assisted ligature strangulation cases allowed us to investigate some common autopsy findings, as well as the rope features relevant to the beheading.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: The aim: To determine the histological and morphological changes of the lymphoid structures of the stomach in male rats under the influence of oral sodium glutamate at the rate of 15 mg/kg of body weight. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: The scientific experiment was performed on 20 white non-linear male rats of reproductive age (4-5 months). The experimental animals were divided into two groups (10 rats in each group), which were orally received monosodium glutamate at a dose of 15 mg/kg body weight every day. We studied the effect of 2 and 4 weekly administration of monosodium glutamate at a dose of 15 mg/kg body weight, respectively, in the I and II groups of experimental animals (depending on the week of their decapitation). Rats of the control groups (n=10) were injected with a placebo for 2 and 4 weeks, namely 0.5 ml of dechlorinated tap water at room temperature. Intact control animals were also divided into two groups, 5 rats each, depending on the week of decapitation: respectively, III group - decapitation on the 2nd week of the experiment; IV group - decapitation on the 4th week of the experiment. After the experiments were completed, animals were decapitated under light ether anesthesia. According to the purpose of the study, pieces of rat stomach measuring 1.0 x 1.0 cm were taken from the front wall of the bottom of the stomach near the great curvature, cardiac and portal parts of the organ. Histological preparations were examined using a MICROmed SEO SСAN light microscope and a Vision CCD Camera. Morphometric studies were carried out according to the method of S. B. Stefanov, using grids No. 3/16. For electron microscopic examination, pieces of the stomach wall of rats were fixed in a 2.5% solution of glutaraldehyde in a 0.1 M phosphate buffer (pH 7.2-7.4) with subsequent fixation in a 2.0% solution of osmium tetroxide. After dehydration in alcohols and acetone, the material was embedded in eponaraldite. Sections were made on an LKB-8800-III ultramicrotome and studied using a JEM - 100-V microscope. To study the structural components of the lymphoid formations of the mucous membrane of different parts of the stomach of rats, semi-thin sections were made for the purpose of sharpening the blocks, which were stained with methylene blue. RESULTS: Results: The analysis of the obtained data of the conducted experiment indicates that the administration of monosodium glutamate in a dose of 15 mg/kg of body weight to rats already after 14 days leads to an increase in the density and size of the lymphoid structures of the GMM. The number of immunocompetent cells between the fundus of the gastric glands and the muscle plate increases in the diffuse lymphoid tissue of the gastrointestinal tract of rats in all its parts, both in the I and II groups of experimental animals. These changes are most pronounced in the cardiac and portal parts of the stomach. In both groups of experimental animals, the migration of interepithelial lymphocytes, macrophages, plasma cells, and tissue basophils to the surface epithelium increases. In both groups of experimental animals (and the II group of rats), lymphoid nodules and lymphoid pre-nodules of the gastric mucous membrane (GMM) are located between the bottom of the gastric glands and the muscular plate of the GMM. A gradual increase of medium lymphocytes in the GMM was established both in animals of I and II groups, while large lymphocytes increased in almost the same amount in experimental animals of both groups. Similar changes occur in the characteristics of the number of plasma cells, macrophages and tissue basophils in the lymphoid pre-nodules of GMM. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: Administering monosodium glutamate to rats at a dose of 15 mg/kg of body weight for 2 weeks leads to an increase in the density and size of lymphoid structures of the mucous membrane in all parts of the stomach with a predominant increase in the number of immunocompetent cells between the bottom of the gastric glands and the muscle plate. At the same time, more pronounced changes were found in the number of small lymphocytes, which tend to decrease by the 2nd week of the experiment, and vice versa - their density increases by the 4th week of monosodium glutamate administration.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: The aim: To evaluate the effect of 28-day oral administration of MSG at the rate of 30 mg/kg of body weight on histological and morphometric parameters of the vascular bed of the thymus in rats. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Materials and methods: The scientific experiment was conducted on 20 white non-linear rats of reproductive age (4-5 months) weighing from 220 to 280 g, which were divided into two groups (10 rats each). Depending on the term of decapitation, the experimental animals were divided into two groups (10 rats in each group). We studied the effect of 14 and 28 days of MSG administration on the body of rats (I and II groups of experimental rats). The experimental animals were daily orally treated with MSG at a dose of 30 mg/kg body weight, which was dissolved in 0.5 ml of dechlorinated tap water at room temperature. Control rats of III and IV groups (5 rats in each of the control groups) were injected with a placebo (0.5 ml of dechlorinated tap water at room temperature) for 14 and 28 days. Intact animals of III and IV groups were also decapitated on the 14th and 28th days of the experiment, respectively. After the end of the experiment, animals were decapitated under light ether anesthesia. After decapitation, the animals were dissected into the chest cavity to remove the thymus. Histological preparations were studied using a MICROmed SEO SСAN light microscope and a Vision CCD Camera. Morphometric studies were carried out using VideoTest-5.0, KAARA Image Base and Microsoft Excel programs on a personal computer. RESULTS: Results: During the microscopic examination of histological preparations of the retrosternal gland in experimental animals of the 1st group (daily administration of MSG at the rate of 30 mg/kg of body weight for 14 days), it was established that the lumen of the arteries is moderately filled with blood elements. The veins are dilated with a changed shape and filled with blood. The following ultrastructural changes were detected in the experimental animals of group I: the lumen of arteries, arterioles and venules is slightly expanded, the nuclei of endotheliocytes are enlarged, occupy a significant part of the cytoplasm, the karyolem forms intussusceptions. The plasmolemma of the lumenal surface of endotheliocytes forms numerous microvilli. At the same time, organelles in the cytoplasm of endotheliocytes lose their contours. After 28 days of exposure to MSG at a dose of 30 mg/kg of body weight in rats (II group of experimental animals), structural changes in the vascular bed of the thymus worsened. The wall of arteries and arterioles is more thickened and swollen, collagen fibers are stratified. In their lumen, there are many uniform elements attached to the vascular wall and testify to thrombus formation. Perivascular edema is determined. The diameter of hemocapillaries is increased, their basal membrane is swollen. Veins and venules are also dilated, full blood, interendothelial contacts in the vessel wall are dilated, the basement membrane is damaged. This contributes to the diapedesis of blood plasma through the vessel wall, which leads to perivascular edema. CONCLUSION: Conclusions: Administration of MGS to rats at a dose of 30 mg/kg of body weight for 14 days leads to violations of the morphometric indicators of the vascular bed in the thymus, namely, to an increase in the outer and inner diameter of the arteries, an increase in the area of the middle membrane and the lumen of the vessels, which tend to progress with maximum indicators on the 28th day of the experiment. 2. The study of the vascular bed of the thymus against the background of taking MSG in a dose of 30 mg/kg of the weight of rats indicates the most pronounced changes in hemocapillaries, mainly on the 28th day of the experiment, which is manifested by an increase in their outer diameter. In the lumen of the hemocapillaries, deformed erythrocytes are identified, arranged in the type of "coin columns".

RESUMO

ABSTRACT: We report an unusual case of schwannoma with glandular elements that demonstrated apocrine decapitation secretion. The glandular structures were embedded within the tumor, varied in shape and size, and were lined by a double-to-multilayered epithelium, with the inner layer composed of monomorphous cuboidal to columnar cells, focally with apocrine decapitation secretion, and the outer layer representing myoepithelial cells. A normal eccrine unit was observed near the lesion. Immunohistochemical studies showed that all luminal cells of the glandular structures stained positive for CK7, whereas myoepithelial cells expressed S100 and p63, and epithelial membrane antigen highlighted the luminal border. CK20 and neuroendocrine markers were negative in the glandular elements. Our findings suggest that the origin of the glandular elements in our case was represented by entrapped glands. Two theories may explain the epithelial hyperplasia observed in the present case as follows: the obstructive effect theory and the inductive ability of a mesenchymal proliferation to produce epidermal or adnexal changes. We suggest that, in a subset of cases, the origin of the glandular elements might represent entrapped glands, wherein their histomorphology/cytomorphology recapitulates the elements comprising the normal adjacent tissue. Further research is necessary to elucidate the histogenesis of glandular schwannoma.

RESUMO

Background: Each year, there are billions of agricultural work accidents involving the operation of tractors, grain augers, harvest combines, power take-off devices, or balers and thrashers. Field accidents of this nature seem more common on afternoons, just as road accidents tend to skew toward nighttime. The lesions can vary widely and depends strictly on the operation of the machinery analyzed. Aims: This paper aims to present a peculiar case of decapitation by a combine harvester, showing how, in cases of injury due to agricultural machinery, it is fundamental a correct execution of a scene investigation, autoptic examination, and cooperation with a specialist in engineering. Case Report: A 54-year-old man was found decapitated on the header of a combine harvester; his extremities were also dismembered. At autopsy, a clean oblique cut across the first cervical vertebra had severed the head at the neck. Although the right arm remained intact, both lower extremities were mutilated, showing numerous exposed and open fractures. A bleeding, penetrating wound to the back was additionally noted. In the days that followed, missing parts (head and left leg) were discovered in other machine components (grain tank and straw walker, respectively). All observed injuries were compatible with the mechanics of the cochlea, its rotating movement inflicting the damages above. Collaboration between pathologists and engineers was fundamental to recreating the dynamics of this rare decapitation accident by a combine harvester.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Branching is a plastic character that affects plant architecture and spatial structure. The trait is controlled by a variety of plant hormones through coordination with environmental signals. Plant AT-rich sequence and zinc-binding protein (PLATZ) is a transcription factor that plays an important role in plant growth and development. However, systematic research on the role of the PLATZ family in apple branching has not been conducted previously. RESULTS: In this study, a total of 17 PLATZ genes were identified and characterized from the apple genome. The 83 PLATZ proteins from apple, tomato, Arabidopsis, rice, and maize were classified into three groups based on the topological structure of the phylogenetic tree. The phylogenetic relationships, conserved motifs, gene structure, regulatory cis-acting elements, and microRNAs of the MdPLATZ family members were predicted. Expression analysis revealed that MdPLATZ genes exhibited distinct expression patterns in different tissues. The expression patterns of the MdPLATZ genes were systematically investigated in response to treatments that impact apple branching [thidazuron (TDZ) and decapitation]. The expression of MdPLATZ1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 15, and 16 was regulated during axillary bud outgrowth based on RNA-sequencing data obtained from apple axillary buds treated by decapitation or exogenous TDZ application. Quantitative real-time PCR analysis showed that MdPLATZ6 was strongly downregulated in response to the TDZ and decapitation treatments, however, MdPLATZ15 was significantly upregulated in response to TDZ, but exhibited little response to decapitation. Furthermore, the co-expression network showed that PLATZ might be involved in shoot branching by regulating branching-related genes or mediating cytokinin or auxin pathway. CONCLUSION: The results provide valuable information for further functional investigation of MdPLATZ genes in the control of axillary bud outgrowth in apple.

RESUMO

Extreme neck elongation was a common evolutionary strategy among Mesozoic marine reptiles, occurring independently in several lineages1,2. Despite its evolutionary success, such an elongate neck might have been particularly susceptible to predation1, but direct evidence for this possibility has been lacking. Composed of only 13 hyperelongate vertebrae and associated strut-like ribs, the configuration of the long neck of the Triassic archosauromorph Tanystropheus is unique among tetrapods. It was probably stiffened and used to catch prey through an ambush-strategy2. Here, we show that the neck was completely severed in two Tanystropheus specimens (Figure 1), most likely due to a predatory attack, providing vivid evidence of predator-prey interactions among Mesozoic marine reptiles that are rarely preserved in the fossil record. The recurring incidence of decapitation suggests that the elongate neck was a functional weak spot in Tanystropheus, and possibly the long-necked marine reptile bauplan more generally.

RESUMO

Complete decapitation due to suicide by hanging is rare. We report the case of a decapitated man who was found in the sea near an estuary. A polyethylene rope was tied to the handrail of the bridge across a strait near the site of the body. The rope was 12 mm in diameter and 19 m in length from the handrail. It ended with a slip knot noose, and skin and mustache-like hair fragments were attached to it. The decapitated head was not found. The deceased weighed 82 kg and was 152 cm long without the head. The autopsy revealed coarse abrasions and intramuscular hemorrhage around the severed edge. The third cervical spine was not fractured. We reviewed the literature and suggested the conditions of body weight, fall height, rope diameter, and number of rolls in cases of decapitation by hanging. We calculated the hanging decapitation index (HDI) as the fall height (m) multiplied by the body weight (kg), divided by the rope diameter (mm), divided by the number of rolls ; and discussed the differences between complete and incomplete decapitation cases. RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Sunflower is an important ornamental plant, which can be used for fresh cut flowers and potted plants. Plant architecture regulation is an important agronomic operation in its cultivation and production. As an important aspect of plant architecture formation, shoot branching has become an important research direction of sunflower. RESULTS: TEOSINTE-BRANCHED1/CYCLOIDEA/PCF (TCP) transcription factors are essential in regulating various development process. However, the role of TCPs in sunflowers has not yet been studied. This study, 34 HaTCP genes were identified and classified into three subfamilies based on the conservative domain and phylogenetic analysis. Most of the HaTCPs in the same subfamily displayed similar gene and motif structures. Promoter sequence analysis has demonstrated the presence of multiple stress and hormone-related cis-elements in the HaTCP family. Expression patterns of HaTCPs revealed several HaTCP genes expressed highest in buds and could respond to decapitation. Subcellular localization analysis showed that HaTCP1 was located in the nucleus. Paclobutrazol (PAC) and 1-naphthylphthalamic acid (NPA) administration significantly delayed the formation of axillary buds after decapitation, and this suppression was partially accomplished by enhancing the expression of HaTCP1. Furthermore, HaTCP1 overexpressed in Arabidopsis caused a significant decrease in branch number, indicating that HaTCP1 played a key role in negatively regulating sunflower branching. CONCLUSIONS: This study not only provided the systematic analysis for the HaTCP members, including classification, conserved domain and gene structure, expansion pattern of different tissues or after decapitation. But also studied the expression, subcellular localization and function of HaTCP1. These findings could lay a critical foundation for further exploring the functions of HaTCPs.

RESUMO

Although decapitation is a well-known traumatic mechanism in road traffic deaths, incomplete decapitation of a motorcyclist with exenteration of the brain has not yet been reported in the forensic literature in a victim run over by a vehicle. This paper deals with an autopsy case of a 69-year-old motorcyclist, who had been run over by a semitrailer, as a result of which flattening of the head with extrusion of the brain and incomplete decapitation occurred at the level of the fourth cervical vertebra. This constellation allows to define a special mechanism of accident-related decapitation. Moreover, the case underlines the importance of a multidisciplinary approach for the reconstruction of the accident as well as for the assessment of its judicial consequences. On the suspicion of a hit-and-run accident, simulation tests were performed by technical experts. These tests revealed that the motorcycle may not have been conspicuous for the truck driver prior to and during the accident. Consequently, the charge of manslaughter and failure to render assistance against the truck driver was dropped.

RESUMO

The inhibition of shoot branching by the growing shoot tip of plants, termed apical dominance, was originally thought to be mediated by auxin. Recently, the importance of the shoot tip sink strength during apical dominance has re-emerged with recent studies highlighting roles for sugars in promoting branching. This raises many unanswered questions on the relative roles of auxin and sugars in apical dominance. Here we show that auxin depletion after decapitation is not always the initial trigger of rapid cytokinin (CK) increases in buds that are instead correlated with enhanced sugars. Auxin may also act through strigolactones (SLs) which have been shown to suppress branching after decapitation, but here we show that SLs do not have a significant effect on initial bud outgrowth after decapitation. We report here that when sucrose or CK is abundant, SLs are less inhibitory during the bud release stage compared to during later stages and that SL treatment rapidly inhibits CK accumulation in pea (Pisum sativum) axillary buds of intact plants. After initial bud release, we find an important role of gibberellin (GA) in promoting sustained bud growth downstream of auxin. We are, therefore, able to suggest a model of apical dominance that integrates auxin, sucrose, SLs, CKs, and GAs and describes differences in signalling across stages of bud release to sustained growth.

RESUMO

Destructive operations diminish the bulk of the foetus for facilitating vaginal delivery. Procedures such as craniotomy or decapitation can be carried out to deliver a dead baby in appropriately selected cases. Ours is a retrospective case series at a single tertiary facility during the first wave of the COVID pandemic. From July 2020 to January 2021, six destructive operations (five craniotomies and one decapitation) were performed in women who had arrest of descent in the second stage of labour but had intrapartum foetal demise. The average operative time was 30 minutes with a mean hospital stay of 4.3 days, which was significantly less than CS, and with much less morbidity. None of these women had significant post-partum haemorrhage or sepsis. Destructive procedures should be considered for better obstetric future of the patient, and a lesser burden on the health facility. What was practiced in COVID times should be extended beyond.

RESUMO

The cytokinin (CK) response regulator (RR) gene family plays a pivotal role in regulating the developmental and environmental responses of plants. Axillary bud outgrowth in the perennial woody plant Jatropha curcas is regulated by the crosstalk between CK and gibberellins (GA). In this study, we first analyzed the effects of gibberellin A3 (GA3), lovastatin (a CK synthesis inhibitor), decapitation, and their interaction, on the outgrowth of axillary buds. The results indicate that lovastatin completely inhibited GA-promoted axillary bud outgrowth and partially weakened the decapitation-promoted axillary bud outgrowth. To further characterize and understand the role of CK signaling in promoting the development of female flowers and branches, we performed bioinformatics and expression analyses to characterize the CK RR gene (JcRR) family in J. curcas. A total of 14 members of the JcRR family were identified; these genes were distributed on 10 chromosomes. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that the corresponding RR proteins are evolutionarily conserved across different plant species, and the Myb-like DNA-binding domain divides the 14 members of the JcRR family into type-A and type-B proteins. Further analysis of cis-acting elements in the promoter regions of JcRRs suggests that JcRRs are expressed in response to phytohormones, light, and abiotic stress factors; thus, JcRRs may be involved in some plant development processes. Genomic sequence comparison revealed that segmental duplication may have played crucial roles in the expansion of the JcRR gene family, and five pairs of duplicated genes were all subjected to purifying selection. By analyzing RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) and quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) data, we characterized that the temporospatial expression patterns of JcRRs during the development of various tissues and the response of these genes to phytohormones and abiotic stress. The JcRRs were mainly expressed in the roots, while they also exhibited differential expression patterns in other tissues. The expression levels of all six type-A and one type-B JcRRs increased in response to 6-benzylaminopurine (6-BA), while the four type-B JcRRs levels decreased. The expression levels of two type-B JcRRs increased in response to exogenous GA3 treatment, while those of three type-A and three type-B JcRRs decreased. We found that type-A JcRRs may play a positive role in the continuous growth of axillary buds, while the role of type-B JcRRs might be the opposite. In response to abiotic stress, the expression levels of two type-A and three type-B JcRRs strongly increased. The overexpression of JcRR12 in Arabidopsis thaliana slightly increased the numbers of rosette branches after decapitation, but not under normal conditions. In conclusion, our results provide detailed knowledge of JcRRs for further analysis of CK signaling and JcRR functions in J. curcas.

RESUMO

Decapitation is an essential agricultural practice and is a typical method for analyzing shoot branching. However, it is unclear exactly how decapitation controls branching. In this study, the decapitation of sunflower plants led to the development of lateral buds, accompanied by a decrease in indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) and abscisic acid (ABA) levels and an increase in cytokinin (CK) levels. Additionally, 82 members of the HabZIP family were discovered and categorized into 9 groups, using phylogenetic and conservative domain analysis. The intron/exon structure and motif compositions of HabZIP members were also investigated. Based on tissue-specific expression and expression analysis following decapitation derived from the transcriptome, several HabZIP members may be involved in controlling decapitation-induced bud outgrowth. Therefore, it is hypothesized that the dynamic variations in hormone levels, in conjunction with particular HabZIP genes, led to the development of axillary buds in sunflowers following decapitation.

RESUMO

ODF1 is a major protein of the accessory fibres of the mammalian sperm tail. In addition, ODF1 is found in the connecting piece, a complex structure located at the posterior end of the nucleus that connects the sperm head and tail. The tight coupling of the sperm head and tail is critical for the progressive motility of the sperm to reach the oocyte for fertilisation. The depletion of ODF1 by homologous recombination in mice led to male infertility. Although sperm tails were present in the epididymis, no intact spermatozoa were found. Instead, the depletion of ODF1 resulted in sperm decapitation, suggesting that ODF1 is essential for the formation of the coupling apparatus and the tight linkage of the sperm head and tail. However, the development of the linkage complex in the absence of ODF1 has never been investigated. Here, I analysed the fine structure of the developing connecting piece by transmission electron microscopy. I show that the connecting piece develops as in wild-type spermatids. Structural abnormalities were not observed when ODF1 was absent. Thus, ODF1 is dispensable for the development of the connecting piece. However, the decapitation of ODF1-deficient spermatozoa indicates that the heads and tails of the spermatozoa are not linked, so that they separate when force is applied.

RESUMO

Aerial bulbils are important vegetative reproductive organs in Lilium. They are often perpetually dormant in most Lilium species, and little is known about the induction of these vegetative structures. The world-famous Oriental hybrid lily cultivar 'Sorbonne', which blooms naturally devoid of aerial bulbils, is known for its lovely appearance and sweet fragrance. We found that decapitation stimulated the outgrowth of aerial bulbils at lower stems (LSs) and then application of low and high concentrations of IAA promoted aerial bulbils emergence around the wound at upper stems (USs) of 'Sorbonne'. However, the genetic basis of aerial bulbil induction is still unclear. Herein, 'Sorbonne' transcriptome has been sequenced for the first time using the combination of third-generation long-read and next-generation short-read technology. A total of 46,557 high-quality non-redundant full-length transcripts were generated. Transcriptomic profiling was performed on seven tissues and stems with treatments of decapitation and application of low and high concentrations of IAA, respectively. Functional annotation of 1918 DEGs within stem samples of different treatments showed that hormone signaling, sugar metabolism and wound-induced genes were crucial to bulbils outgrowth. The expression pattern of auxin-, shoot branching hormone-, plant defense hormone- and wound-inducing-related genes indicated their crucial roles in bulbil induction. Then we established five hormone- and wounding-regulated co-expression modules and identified some candidate transcriptional factors, such as MYB, bZIP, and bHLH, that may function in inducing bulbils. High connectivity was observed among hormone signaling genes, wound-induced genes, and some transcriptional factors, suggesting wound- and hormone-invoked signals exhibit extensive cross-talk and regulate bulbil initiation-associated genes via multilayered regulatory cascades. We propose that the induction of aerial bulbils at LSs after decapitation can be explained as the release of apical dominance. In contrast, the induction of aerial bulbils at the cut surface of USs after IAA application occurs via a process similar to callus formation. This study provides abundant candidate genes that will deepen our understanding of the regulation of bulbil outgrowth, paving the way for further molecular breeding of lily.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Although many theories have been established to explain the mechanism of aneurysm development following steno-occlusive or hypertensive disease, the effect of the geometrical shape of the inner elastic membrane on the maximum dilatation capacity of arteries has not been adequately investigated so far. This subject was investigated. METHODS: This study was conducted in 24 rabbits. The rabbits were divided into 3 groups: as the control, (n = 5), the SHAM (n = 5), and the study group (n = 14). In the study group, BCCAL was performed. After decapitation, the basilar artery vasodilatation index (VDI) and the actual length of the inner elastic membrane (IEM) were estimated. The relationship between the true length of IEM and VDI values was compared statistically using the Mann-Witney -U test. RESULTS: Mean blood pressures were 113 ± 7 mmHg in animals at the beginning of the experiment (n = 24), and 119 ± 9 mmHg in GII and 122 ± 11mmHg in GIII after BCCAL (n = 12). Before decapitation, the mean blood pressures were 115 ± 10 mmHg in GI, 116 ± 10 mmHg in GII, and 127 ± 11mmHg GIII. The DADA values of animals were 20 ± 4mm in GI; 28 ± 6mm in GII and 37 ± 9mm in GIII. The VDI value of BA was 1.390 ± 0.220 in GI; 1.013 ± 0.108 in GI; 0.019 ± 0.011in GII group. CONCLUSION: An inverse relationship was discovered between the DADA/VDI values. BCCAL may lead to severe dangerous histopathological changes at the BA. Lower DADA or higher VDI values may lead to severe basilar enlargement, endothelial losing, inner elastic membrane rupture, and aneurysm formation after BCCAL.
